The Toy Museum and the Child has one of the most important European collections of vintage toys, the result of more than half a century of dedicated research. Thousands of pieces displayed in rotation, following chronological and thematic paths. Three centuries of history, from 1700 to the 70s of the twentieth century, to protect and preserve the memory of the Child. The exhibition includes many artifacts, documents and testimonies. Toys strictly original and fully functional investigate every aspect of play: dolls and toy soldiers, models of all kinds, street games and board games, books and comics, video games until the early ... materials, sizes, educational intentions are the most diverse and fascinating.
The specimens from all over Europe and beyond, selected according to the historical and cultural, the rarity, but especially to the story that can be learned. Stories of children, of course: How they lived, grew up, studied and worked, and their life in the family and outside the family.
, but also stories of adults: The toy is never an end in itself but is a witness and attentive, often unforgiving. Through the observation of the object then emerges the human journey. Science and art, craft and industry, education and philosophy converge in the game and in the symbolism of a universal language that knows no barriers of race, language, civilization.

Especially the in-depth educational programs, focused on 20 years of experience and appreciated by more than half a million children. Tone and content of the guided tours are calibrated based on the age of the students, from kindergarten to high school (with study of specific topics, also at the request of teachers). Trails abound for adult groups, from universities to the elderly.
The paths can be combined with laboratory activities, real Atelier construction toys (for children only, for schools, for families ... but also preparatory courses for future teachers). The laboratory activities are first of all an opportunity to spend time in a meaningful and fun. Specialist operators offer a type of interactive play and creative without preconceived. Through the use of a wide range of materials aesthetically attractive and properly prepared, it triggers a process that stimulates the imaginative capacities, logical and practical and has as its ultimate goal the realization of an idea. The game as an opportunity to produce culture and generate knowledge.

Over the weekend, the Museum is open to families and individual visitors with a series of activities categorization and the availability of a room "film" to attend premonition educational or recreational activities. Particularly noted Reconstruction (with original furnishings) of a classroom academician.
The visit to the museum is an extraordinary journey into the world of fantasy, poetry, art and fairy tale. Told the charm of country fairs, folk festivals, theaters of the square. Illustrates the evolution over time of social conventions and the changing patterns and roles. Documents the participation in the first great discoveries of science and technology in a diverse range of interests that are well suited to be collected, interpreted and developed in the context of educational programming.
